An African safari is the ultimate dream for the true
wilderness hunter and South Africa offers the largest
variety of wildlife to hunt anywhere. Safari is a simple
Swahili word meaning “journey”, or to travel, but has
become to mean so much more. Imbued with a sense of the
exotic, more typically a sense of Africa, the word safari
today has become symbolic of something far more romantic:
it evokes images of adventure and stylish indulgence.
It is about leaving behind your footprints in Africa,
in exchange for priceless memories that will last a lifetime.
During your safari with African outfitter, you might
have to stay in different camps, depending on the species
you are looking for. Rest assured that wherever you stay,
comfort and style take pride of place. We do like to treat
our guests to traditions common to Africa . You will find
that thatched lodges are very popular and with us it is
no different. Our lodges and campsites will provide you
with all the necessities you need. Fully catered for and
professionally served, you will be treated like a king.
Our meals are superb. Early mornings before we go out
to hunt, you will be treated to a hearty breakfast within
the warmth of the lodge. Day packs are available if needed.
We will provide soft drinks, snacks and bottled water
during the hunt. In the evenings we will return to camp
just to find that the campfire has already been started.
Here we will relax before and after a luscious three-course
dinner. Our chefs love to prepare some of the meat of
the animals that you have shot, in itself an unforgettable
experience. Wine and alcoholic beverages will be available.
Every client is asked to complete an information sheet
so that we can cater for your specific needs. Our accommodations
is very comfortable with hot and cold running water. Flush
toilets and electricity are just a few of the modern commodities.
Daily laundry service is also provided to keep you spick
and span for your safari. The different camp staff are
highly trained in all aspects of camp management to ensure
a totally pleasant stay for our clients.
We specialize in hunting and bowhunting and our professional
hunters and trackers are experienced in their fields.
We will do our best possible to ensure that you have a
reasonable chance of bagging the best trophy possible.
Our wildlife can be unpredictable, but we are committed
to satisfy our hunting friends. Depending on the terrain
and circumstances we will try and hunt on foot, where
animal is wounded the quickest and most humane way of
killing it will be used. We have comfortable hunting vehicles
which will be used in finding and recovering the hunted
animals.
We will not hunt after sunset and will not use artificial
light, accept when in search of a wounded animal. A guide
will be present at all times and the hunter will be shown
what animal to shoot. Bowhunting is done from permanent
blinds near feeding areas and trails. Trackers are available
to follow up on wounded animals. The professional hunter
will be entitled to kill a hunted animal when wounded
or when a potential dangerous situation may arise. Success
rates are good as well as the specie diversity. We are
sure to make your hunt and the time you spend in the bush
memorable and very special.
Remember: Never pass up a trophy that you will be satisfied
with on the last day.
Hunt Season: In South Africa
operate year round only not hunting December and January.
The winter months are June, July and August which will
be the best time to come. This is also a busy time of
the year.
April and May is also good as it is still early in the
season and chances are better for good trophies. September
and October is still cool enough for trophy hunting, but
in some areas it may get a bit warmer during these months.
March and October may be rainy.
Travel and Licence Requirements:
Depending on the hunting areas we use, you will be picked
up from the airport and dropped there again at the end
of the safari. Most clients fly directly to Johannesburg
International Airport but it might be necessary to book
connection flights to Kimberley or Bloemfontein .
There are various options between Johannesburg and Kimberley
or Bloemfontein every day. South African Airways have
direct flights to and from Atlanta and New York. There
are also some other options available via London or Amsterdam.
Most of the international airlines fly to and from South
Africa, so it won’t be a problem to get a seat.
