TRANSCASPIAN URIAL ( Ovis vignei arkal)
HUNT
This urial, the most beautiful of the Urial sheep, is
represented in a great number in Turkmenistan. The place
of hunting is located in Kopet Daghs mountainous region
of Turkmenistan, in Badhyz reserve. Mountains Kopet Daghs
(it is a part of mountains Turkmeno-Horasanskih) are not
so high, and only the top of Rize achieves 2942 meters,
Basically the height of mountains are from 300 up to 2000
meters. Mountains are with by numerous gorges and divided
by longitudinal valleys with ledges. In summer is heat
and the rivers dry up. A climate is dry subtropical. The
method of hunt - by stalking. Rams are in gorges
where the grass grows, and goats are on steep rocks and
abrupt rocks. Up to a place of hunting, hunters go on
horses and leave them before one kilometer up to that
place where rams are grazed. Rams are very timid, cautious,
observant. If rams will feel hunters, they escape with
a speed till 60 km / hour. For the hunter important silently
to rise on a rock, to look round. When will come a dawn,
to the hunter it is necessary to choose the ram, to aim
under the scapula of the ram and to shoot when rams will
rise. Horns of the ram large, bent to a neck.Expected
trophy — 33 - 36" up till 40". The size of rams
is one meter and more, the weight is about 80 kg.

to Ashkhabad by aircraft (Moscow-Ashkhabad-Moscow) 4 hours,
To Hunting camp ( 8 hours ) by bus or by helicopter (
3 hours)
